Parkour - Part 1

I am interested of Parkour this time and I wanted to find a movie name, Ya Makas. It looks very interesting to me and it attract me!

5 top moves in parkour that I really often saw is
- Backflip
- SideFlip
- Palm Spin
- Wall Spin
- Jumping (Across buildings haha)
5 basic moves that I will learn
- Cat leap
- Jumping above things (Example jump above things like the picture above, Yamakas!)
- Run to a wall and go across the wall
- Front Flip
I think Jumping above things will be fun to me and I really wanted to do it now. Cat leap will be helpful for me because I can run from bad people or chasing my naughty friend, Ardy haha(joking ardy). Parkour can help me alot to do anything and it can make me move faster to do anything connected with sport. Front flip is hard to do but I am very interested to learn that moves because it really looks cool from outside. My goal for Parkour is doing front flip or backflip if I can.
I think learning parkour for beginner need to be in a gym because we could be injured if I straight away do parkour in a city. I need to find a gym that fits me and near from my house. I could try do some parkour moves in the city but i will not do the advance move in the city, I will injured definitely.

I am Interested on Parkour very much because it looks very cool to me and it seems so fun!
1 of my dream is doing parkour but it really hard to learn the steps and the moves. Fun thing about Parkour is when we running around the city and being healthy and especially with friends. Doing Parkour with friends are the most fun thing because we can communicate each other while doing fun thing around the city. I wish most of my friend can do parkour and it will be great and excited.

What do you think about Parkour? Comment below! thanks!

  2. Wisung,

Parkour comes from the French word parcours, which means obstabcle course. It aslo literally means "by running." This is the central idea of parcours. Every movement you make is a continuation of the last movement you made. One action goes into the next in a fluid motion without stopping. Best place to start practicing is in the playground. You'll need to exercise a lot to increase your anaerobic strength (your beach muscles) and also your core strength (back and abs) in order to move the way you need to in parcours. Chin ups, sit ups, push ups and lots of plank. The intro to Casino Royale is an epic example of parcours and Yamakazi is the movie that made parcours famous in recent times. It's French, but you should be able to find subtitles. Parcours came out of the Arrondissements, the ghettos, around Paris. It was started by poor kids that had nothing to do and no video games. So instead they started climbing up buildings and jumping off of them. If you want to meet in the playground I can show some basic stuff, but I've got a busted wrist so I'm a little handicapped at the moment.
